The first of the two scheduled industrial plant tours was held at the City of Hendersonville Waste Water Facility.  This plant, completed in 2002, serves the City of Hendersonville as well as portions of Fletcher, Laurel Park & Flat Rock.  The average daily design flow is 4.8 million gallons per day, and after extensive testing, clean water is discharged into Mud Creek.  Solid materials removed from the facility are transported to a land fill in South Carolina, as are other solid wastes collected by the County.
