Liberal? Conservative? Which political philosophy is better for people in today’s society? And how do we know, when both groups claim to know the truth?

This course will explore the philosophic roots underlying each doctrine and their impact on political thought. It then goes on to evaluate the practical effect each has had on our country’s programs and policies, with the goal of arriving at a measurable conclusion.

Holding degrees from the University of Chicago, presenter Robert Wiley is a  trained Great Books facilitator and former Chicago Area Great Books Council board member.

He currently teaches at UNCA’s College for Seniors and has offered courses at Blue Ridge Community College and the Brevard Library.
