Insects represent well over 75% of the multi-cellular organisms in the world today. The insect is described as having an exoskeleton, a body divided into a head, thorax and abdomen, six legs, many eyes, two antennae, and an overabundance of stamina. They are found on land, in water, and in air from the North Pole to the South Pole. Some make humans miserable and others are very helpful. We will examine all of these characteristics and more.
After almost 40 years of teaching, presenter Dr. Don Osterberg retired to Hendersonville, N.C. He is Professor Emeritus of Vertebrate and Aquatic Biology from The State University of New York, Potsdam, where he taught for 31 years. His degrees are from Montclair State University, N.J. (B.A.), Michigan State University (M.S.), and The University of Ottawa, Canada (Ph.D.). Dr. Osterberg is one of our most popular presenters.
