If you have any interest in the art of crime scene investigation, this is your chance to learn from one of the leading experts in Henderson County.  You will get a glimpse of real world forensics. This class will familiarize you with different types of physical evidence found at a crime scene. The instructor will give an overview of some cases, showing how the physical evidence was found and how it was used along with testimonial and situational evidence to reconstruct what happened at the crime scene. Students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on training of processing and collecting evidence.

Jim McClelland is the Lieutenant of Criminal Investigation in the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. He has also had 26 years of experience with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and has received several thousand hours of forensics and crime scene training.  He has worked many high profile cases in North Carolina, one of which was a triple homicide in Fayetteville, and is well known in the Forensics world.
