We are fortunate that one of our most popular speakers, Dr. Richard L. Kugler has agreed to speak to us once again on National Security.

In session one, Dr. Kugler will examine emerging directions in U.S. national security strategy and foreign policy, discussing where U.S. global strategy seems headed under the new administration. We will begin by examining the Obama legacy, and then discuss trends in global security. After examining key goals and priorities of the White House, the session will conclude by evaluating future options for the new administration.

Session two will focus on goals and priorities for defense preparedness for the U.S. and its allies. We will take stock of goals and priorities for preparing U.S. and allied military forces and budgets. We conclude by evaluating options and configure them to handle future requirements in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Dr. Richard L. Kugler is an internationally known, heavily published writer, policy innovator, scholar, lecturer and educator on U.S. national security affairs and global politics. He holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he studied defense economics and strategic planning. During his long career, he spent many years serving in the U.S. Department of Defense, at the RAND Corporation, at National Defense University, and as a consultant to senior leaders in the Pentagon, the State Department, and the White House.
