Movies with an Unexpected Ending

4 Sessions
Wednesdays, March 1, 8, 15 & 22
1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
BRCC, Room 122, Continuing Education Building
Member Fee: $50, Non-Member Fee:  $70

We will watch and discuss four films with provocative, surprise plot twists. These will be well-made movies, with no corny endings or gaping plot holes. Don’t worry if you’ve seen one or two of the films before; you can look for clues you didn’t see the first time. Films include The Sixth Sense and The Usual Suspects – and several other surprises. We will also cover the movie industry in general (e.g. what do all the titles in the credits mean?) and answer questions about the particular films we are watching (e.g. backgrounds of actors, director and writer; where the movie was shot). Finally, we will discuss the film itself – did you think it was a good plot twist? Did it make you rethink the entire movie? And more!

Terry May graduated from MIT with a Bachelor of Science degree, after which he was drafted into the US Army, where his first assignment was making educational and training films. After returning from Vietnam, he earned an MBA from the UCLA School of Management.  Terry worked in the movie and media industry in Los Angeles for twelve years, gaining good experience and knowledge about how the industry works. Growing up in the Hollywood area of LA, Terry has always had a love of movies and watched many being filmed in his neighborhood. Several of his classmates became actors, writers and producers.
