Folk Tales from Around the World: Wisdom for the Ages

3 Sessions
Mondays, February 6, 13 & 20, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
BRCC, Room 150, Patton Building
Member Fee: $40, Non-Member Fee: $60

The origins of folk (and fairy) tales are often obscure and go back hundreds, even thousands, of years.  These stories are found throughout the world. Six tales, each from a different country will be read and the main themes explored.  In addition, discussion is encouraged to further define the essential elements of wisdom that are still applicable to life in the modern world.

Bobbie Rockwell received training from the Great Books Foundation in shared inquiry techniques for discussing literature.  She was an educator for 40 years, and often used tales in her teaching.  As an experienced group discussion facilitator, she leads adult lifelong learning classes.
