Have you ever wondered what the allure of fly fishing is?  Is it the calm, gentleness of standing in a therapeutic stream and fly casting? If you have, this course is for you. Participants will be introduced to the world of fly fishing and the benefits, both physical and mental, that are associated with the sport. Students will learn the basic cast and, if interest exists, tying some flies as well.

Alex Bell has spent 30 years in public education in Jackson County, NC, teaching and coaching students. He has been an assistant principal and principal at the elementary and high school level. In addition, he has taught, as an adjunct professor, at Western Carolina University in the Recreational Therapy Department a course on the Therapeutic Benefits of Fly Fishing. Mr. Bell has made fly fishing presentations to Trout Unlimited and other fly fishing clubs in nine states and to hundreds of people.
